Pastors need one another.

The calling to shepherd the people of God can be fulfilling, challenging, wonderful, difficult, exhilarating, exhausting, and rejuvenating. All at the same time. It takes hard work and dedication. James wrote that not many should become teachers, because it comes with stricter judgment. Every pastor needs other pastors who encourage him, pray for him, and join him in this noble work.

Side-by-Side Initiative connects pastors to one another for the purposes of prayer, encouragement, and collaboration. Here is how it works:

When a pastor signs up, he will be paired with another pastor in our association. These two will exchange contact information and will be expected to be in regular contact.

  • Once a week - Contact one another for encouragement and prayer through text messaging, email, or phone calls.

  • Once a month - Talk with one another to exchange ideas, check on one another, and fellowship. This should be a conversation, not just a text message.

  • Once a quarter - Meet face-to-face over coffee, a meal, or in each other’s office. Build a relationship beyond just communication over the phone.

  • Once a year - Collaborate with one another for the sake of ministry. Mission trips, outreach events, joint worship, staff development, preaching for one another. All of these will connect not just the pastors, but the churches they serve.

The hope is that each pastor who participates will experience the spirit of cooperation that God intends for us. If you want to be part of Side-by-Side, complete the following form. Steve will be in touch with you soon.
